Jammu Kashmir holiday package: Trip Overview
This Jammu Kashmir holiday package is designed for families travelling with elders. Instead of the long climb, you fly by helicopter from Katra towards the Bhawan and complete darshan in a few hours.
The next morning the train carries you to Srinagar, and the rest of the week is Gulmarg, Pahalgam and a houseboat night on Dal Lake, all at an easy pace.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Katra and Vaishno Devi Darshan by Helicopter
- Pickup from Jammu or Katra and check in to your hotel.
- Fly from the Katra helipad to Sanjichhat (tickets booked in advance on the Shrine Board portal, own cost), then about 2.5 km on foot or by pony to the Bhawan.
- Return the same way. Dinner and overnight in Katra.
Day 02: Katra to Srinagar by Train over the Chenab Bridge
- Board the morning train from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station; the journey takes about 3 hours.
- Cross the Chenab Rail Bridge, the world's highest railway arch bridge, and the Anji Khad bridge.
- Pickup at Srinagar station. Evening at leisure by Dal Lake; dinner and overnight in Srinagar.
Day 03: Srinagar to Gulmarg Day Trip
- After breakfast, it's about a 2-hour drive from Srinagar to Gulmarg, the 'meadow of flowers'.
- Ride the Gulmarg Gondola (own cost) and enjoy snow in winter or golf and meadow walks in summer.
- Drive back from Gulmarg to Srinagar in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 04: Srinagar to Pahalgam Day Trip
- Drive past the saffron fields of Pampore and the apple orchards of the Lidder valley.
- Walk along the Lidder River and visit the riverside viewpoints of Pahalgam.
- Return to Srinagar for dinner and overnight.
Day 05: Shikara Ride and Houseboat Stay
- Check in to a deluxe houseboat on Dal Lake.
- Enjoy a complimentary 1-hour Shikara ride past floating gardens and markets.
- Dinner and overnight on the houseboat.
Day 06: Srinagar Airport or Railway Station Departure
- After breakfast, check out from your hotel or houseboat by 11 AM.
- Transfer to Srinagar airport or railway station with wonderful memories.
