Gurez is Kashmir before tourism: a remote valley of wooden villages and pine forest beside the Kishanganga river, reached over the 3,300 m Razdan Pass.

This short Gurez Valley tour gives you two nights in the valley, with time for Dawar, the pyramid-shaped Habba Khatoon peak and walks through Dard-Shin villages, plus a sightseeing day in Srinagar.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 01: Srinagar Full-Day Local Sightseeing

We pick you up from Srinagar airport or railway station and drop you at your hotel.
Visit Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, Chashme Shahi, Pari Mahal and the Shankaracharya Temple.
Spend the evening strolling along the Boulevard by Dal Lake. Dinner and overnight in Srinagar.

Day 02: Srinagar to Gurez Valley via Razdan Pass

An early start for the 5 to 6-hour drive north, with a stop at the Wular Lake viewpoint near Bandipora.
Cross the Razdan Pass, at more than 3,300 m, with views back over the valley. Carry original photo ID for the checkpoint registration.
Arrive in Dawar beside the Kishanganga River. Dinner and overnight in a simple guesthouse or homestay.

Day 03: Gurez: Dawar, Habba Khatoon Peak and Village Walks

See the pyramid-shaped Habba Khatoon peak, named after the 16th-century Kashmiri poet-queen.
Walk through log-house villages of the Dard-Shin community and along the Kishanganga.
Optional drive towards Tulail valley if the road is open. Dinner and overnight in Gurez.

Day 04: Gurez to Srinagar

After breakfast, drive back over the Razdan Pass.
Lunch stop in Bandipora, then on to Srinagar.
Dinner and overnight in Srinagar.

Day 05: Srinagar Airport or Railway Station Departure

After breakfast, check out from your hotel or houseboat by 11 AM.
Transfer to Srinagar airport or railway station with wonderful memories.
