Jammu Kashmir couple package: Trip Overview

If your idea of romance is snowfall outside the window, this Jammu Kashmir couple package is for you. You spend two nights in Gulmarg at the height of winter, with a full day for sledging, a ski lesson and the gondola.

Then it's back to Srinagar for a cosy night on a houseboat, with hot kahwa and harissa, a Kashmiri winter speciality, on the menu. Room heaters are available on request at a small charge, as on all winter stays.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 01: Srinagar Full-Day Local Sightseeing

We pick you up from Srinagar airport or railway station and drop you at your hotel.
Visit Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, Chashme Shahi, Pari Mahal and the Shankaracharya Temple.
Spend the evening strolling along the Boulevard by Dal Lake. Dinner and overnight in Srinagar.

Day 02: Srinagar to Gulmarg – Overnight in the Meadow

Drive about 2 hours to Gulmarg and check in, so you are already up the mountain when the crowds arrive.
Ride the Gulmarg Gondola (own cost), then walk to St Mary's Church and the old Maharani Temple on the meadow.
Watch the evening light on Apharwat from your hotel. Dinner and overnight in Gulmarg.

Day 03: Gulmarg Snow Day – Sledging, Ski Taster and Gondola Phase 2

A full winter day in Gulmarg with nothing to rush back for.
Try sledging or a one-hour ski lesson on the nursery slopes; snow-bike and ATV rides are optional (own cost).
On a clear day, ride Gondola Phase 2 towards Apharwat for the high-altitude snowfields. Dinner and overnight in Gulmarg.

Day 04: Shikara Ride and Houseboat Stay

Check in to a deluxe houseboat on Dal Lake.
Enjoy a complimentary 1-hour Shikara ride past floating gardens and markets.
Dinner and overnight on the houseboat.

Day 05: Srinagar Airport or Railway Station Departure

After breakfast, check out from your hotel or houseboat by 11 AM.
Transfer to Srinagar airport or railway station with wonderful memories.
